Laurel's Corn Bread
This probably came from Laurel's Kitchen.
2 cups of cornmeal
1/2 cup wheat germ
1 tablespoon brown sugar
1 teaspoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon baking powder
1 teaspoon salt
1 tablespoon oil
1 egg
2 cups buttermilk or sour milk
Preheat the oven to 425 degrees.
Grease and flour an 8 inch square pan.
Mix the dry ingredients.
Mix the liquid ingredients
Combine everything gently and pour into the pan.
Bake for about 20-25 minutes.

It's just what I was looking for! Thanks! But is says "1 teaspoon baking powder" and then "1/2 teaspoon baking powder"...in my memory both baking powder and baking soda are used but which is which?
